About The Position

Responsible for the coordination, installation, upgrade, and conversion of physical security projects dealing with alarm systems, access controls, video cameras, radio systems, detection systems, wireless networks, and all other types of physical security equipment. Identify and researches new technology as it relates to the physical security field and makes recommendations based on subject-matter expertise; prepares projects and procedures required for construction, modification, replacement, repair or safety of Security facilities and systems; Acts as liaison to field operations in the areas of design and implementation of physical security systems with internal and external customer representatives on programs and projects under their cognizance and coordinates activities with other divisions to ensure completion of programs in accordance with delivery schedules; reviews, submits and makes recommendations regarding reports, studies, proposals and safety improvement projects; leads design for equipment or systems involving security projects; reviews and submits for approval the purchase of equipment; plans and schedules work on assigned programs and follows up to ensure specifications are met; reviews and approves preliminary drawings of electrical, mechanical and electronic circuits; directs circuitry testing and verification of electric and electronic equipment; leads employee teams through a problem-solving process utilizing facilitation skills; and specifies, approves, tracks and controls areas of assignment. Provides system solutions to specific security concerns identified through customer requests and security audits. Duties for this job may also include planning, implementation, administration, and management of the following technologies: Windows/Linux servers, new wireless technologies, network communication including switches, routers, and firewalls. Backup for Counter Unidentified Aerial System (CUAS) and Survillance Radar (SR) systems as necessary. May complete other duties as assigned by management. Develops, reviews and maintains technical documentation, security systems configuration change control management, including compliance with Pantex document control. Monitors policies and standards with Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Pantex/Industry on Physical Security Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
  • OR a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience (for applicants without a bachelor's degree).
  • Requires a Q clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related field).
  • Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709.
