About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Physical Security & Compliance Manager to oversee the design, implementation, and governance of physical security programs and regulatory compliance across modular data center deployments. This role is critical in ensuring the protection of people, assets, and infrastructure while maintaining adherence to industry standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) and customer requirements. You will partner with engineering, operations, and EH&S teams to build scalable and audit-ready security frameworks for rapidly deployable modular data center solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in physical security, compliance, or risk management, preferably within: Data centers, Critical infrastructure, Industrial or mission-critical environments
  • Strong knowledge of: Access control & surveillance systems (Lenel, Genetec, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of: Compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Experience managing audits and regulatory compliance programs
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, multi-site or deployment-heavy environments
  • Strong vendor management and project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with modular data centers, edge deployments, or prefabricated infrastructure
  • Certifications such as: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CISM, CISSP, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
  • Familiarity with data center standards (Uptime Institute, TIA-942)
  • Experience supporting hyperscalers, colocation providers, or critical infrastructure clients

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage site-level and fleet-wide physical security programs for modular data center environments.
  • Oversee access control systems, CCTV, intrusion detection, perimeter security, and monitoring protocols.
  • Define and enforce security zoning and layered defense strategies for modular and deployed sites.
  • Conduct threat risk assessments (TRAs) and vulnerability analyses for both permanent and temporary deployments.
  • Manage relationships with security vendors, integrators, and guard services.
  • Lead compliance efforts for SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, TIA-942, and customer-driven security requirements.
  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits, ensuring documentation, controls, and evidence are audit-compliant.
  • Develop and enforce policies, SOPs, and security standards aligned with industry frameworks.
  • Partner with legal and risk teams to ensure compliance with federal, state (Texas), and local regulations.
  • Embed security requirements into design and manufacturing of modular data centers (factory & field).
  • Ensure secure transport, staging, and commissioning processes for modules.
  • Establish repeatable security standards for rapid deployment environments (edge, colocation, enterprise sites).
  • Lead incident response procedures related to physical security breaches or compliance violations.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery alignment with physical security risks.
  • Work with Data Center Operations, IT Security, Engineering, and EH&S on integrated risk management.
  • Support customer-facing teams by addressing security questionnaires, RFPs, and audits.
  • Provide training to staff on security awareness and compliance requirements.
