About The Position

HCRC Staffing is seeking compassionate MD/DO physiatrists to provide on-site rehabilitation care at subacute rehabilitation facilities in Far Rockaway, Queens, and Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. Each location offers a part-time opportunity; physicians interested in full-time work may combine locations. The role offers clinical autonomy, flexible scheduling, and administrative support while helping patients regain function, improve mobility, and manage pain.

Compensation starts at $150,000 for part-time work, depending on days and hours worked, with additional compensation for full-time work. The position has no nights or weekends. A laptop is provided, and malpractice insurance coverage is available as applicable.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Active New York medical license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Experience in subacute rehabilitation, geriatric care, rehabilitation medicine, or a related setting.
• Ability to work independently and manage a patient panel.
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physiatry evaluations and follow-up care in subacute rehabilitation settings.
• Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal, neurologic, and functional limitations.
• Create individualized treatment plans supporting functional recovery, mobility, and pain relief.
• Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances when clinically appropriate.
• Perform therapeutic injections, including joint and trigger-point injections, as indicated.
• Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams on rehabilitation plans and patient goals.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and patient progress.
• Communicate recommendations to facility clinical teams and assist with care transitions.
