The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Physical Health & Wellness (PH&W) Coach develops and executes multiweek programs and events to educate, coach, and empower wounded service members in pursuit of achievement of their physical health and wellness goals. This role involves identifying, screening, and recruiting warriors for participation in quarterly virtual and in-person events and coaching programs. The coach will plan and execute PH&W coaching program kick-off events, providing education on fitness, nutrition, mobility, sleep, and health. They will create individualized coaching programs, manage warrior participation throughout 90-day programs, and provide support through regular coaching sessions via telephone or Teams. The coach will use motivational interviewing skills to encourage behavior change and support progress towards SMART goals. Additionally, they will develop and facilitate virtual programming, collaborate with teammates on new content, and identify new programming opportunities. The role requires learning and implementing various modalities, establishing community relationships, and collaborating with other WWP departments. Public speaking to raise awareness and maintain budgets for PH&W programming are also key responsibilities. The coach will manage information in various systems, utilize metrics to meet strategic outcomes, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Participation in workgroups, assisting with onboarding new teammates, and attending required training are also part of the role.
