About The Position

Perform routine and non-routine tests to determine physical, chemical, and elemental properties of materials. Ensure accurate data collection, proper operation of laboratory instruments, adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and records. Receive, log, label, store and track samples according to laboratory protocols. Utilize available tools and systems to ensure efficient workflows (e.g. LIMS). Operate and monitor laboratory instruments and analytical equipment. Perform routine calibration, cleaning and basic maintenance. Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with supervisors or service providers. Maintain accurate equipment logs and maintenance records. Follow laboratory safety procedures, chemical hygiene plans and PPE requirements. Comply with quality management systems (e.g., ISO, GLP, internal QC standards). Assist with audits, inspections and corrective actions. Maintain a clean, organized and safe laboratory workspace.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field
  • Hands-on experience with standardized testing such as ICP and associated digestion techniques, XRF, CHN, UV/Vis, titration, density, flashpoint, MCR, KF Water, etc.
  • Familiarity with ASTM and ISO Standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of laboratory experience preferred
  • Experience with physical testing methods or elemental analysis instrumentation is highly desirable
  • Ability to multitask
