The Physical Education Teacher will instruct students and evaluate their progress in physical education, including physical activity and overall health. Responsibilities include collaborating with grade-level teams on special events and assemblies, maintaining grade-level culture, providing classroom support, and communicating with families. The teacher will also build relationships with students during lunch and/or recess, cover classes when general education teachers are absent, and implement feedback to grow as an educator. Additionally, they will design rigorous, aligned curriculum that supports all learners in collaboration with colleagues and school leaders.

Requirements

• Holds a B.A./B.S. degree and has the ability to secure the appropriate teaching license.
• Is committed to using data-driven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes.
• Is relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments.
• Is open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members.
• Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities.

• Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities.

Responsibilities
