We believe the highest goal of education is to become good, intellectually and morally. Physical Education at Great Hearts: All Great Hearts Elementary School students take Physical Education. The goal of the Physical Education class is to promote both the physical health and the growth in virtue of each student. Rigorous and joyful PE classes have a combination of strength and cardio exercises, training in the basics of sports, and discussions on the virtues, including fortitude, temperance, prudence, and justice. Sports include baseball, soccer, volleyball, football, and basketball.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
• US work authorization required
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

• Certification is not required for general education

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
