Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Physical Education Teacher will develop students' physical skills and abilities. This role involves educating students on the importance of exercise for physical, mental, and social well-being, and motivating them towards physical fitness, proper hygiene, and good health. The teacher will develop and administer Physical Education classes consistent with school district goals and objectives, teaching knowledge of and skills in movement patterns and motor skills, as well as concepts related to health, physical fitness, and the lifelong value of physical activity. Responsibilities include fostering leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills, providing a safe learning environment, and offering appropriate feedback on student progress. The teacher will conduct ongoing assessments, modify instruction for individual needs (including special needs students), and continuously pursue professional development. This role also involves organizing and maintaining accurate records, assisting with extra-curricular activities, encouraging parental involvement, ensuring student conduct aligns with school policies, and coordinating with other staff members. Additionally, the teacher will select and requisition instructional aids and equipment, and ensure equipment and field areas are in safe working order. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
