About The Position

Saint Peter Middle School is seeking a long-term substitute to teach Physical Education for grades 5 and 6. The substitute will provide safe, engaging, standards-based instruction that helps students build physical skills, fitness, and teamwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and licensure in Physical Education
• Experience teaching middle school or physical education
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and mandatory reporting
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and student information systems

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach physical education lessons aligned with state standards
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive gym environment
• Manage student behavior and promote sportsmanship and respect
• Assess student progress and keep accurate grade and attendance records
• Follow IEPs, 504 plans, and other student support plans
• Communicate with families and collaborate with staff
• Supervise students during assigned duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
