About The Position

This is a long-term substitute position for a Special Education Teacher, providing services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), or Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD). The role involves working closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help students develop and utilize skills and strategies for behavior management and integration into mainstream settings. The teacher will create a positive learning environment, conduct individual and group instruction, develop and implement lesson plans, and foster positive relationships with students.

Requirements

Current Minnesota Special Ed license in ASD, SLD, or EBD.
Successful background check required.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching.
Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents.
Calm demeanor and passion for working with kids.
Ability to communicate effectively with school staff and parents.
Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.

Responsibilities

Provide special education services to students.
