About The Position

IDEA Physical Education and Integrated Health Teachers deliver daily, high-quality physical education instruction in nontraditional spaces, including outdoor areas, cafetoriums, and shared multipurpose rooms. They use IDEA’s structured curriculum and instructional technology, including Interactive Health Technologies (IHT), to support fitness achievement, student engagement, safety, routines, and goal setting. Teachers plan for and track Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) as a core instructional outcome, even when facilities or equipment are limited. Teachers collaborate with campus teams to coordinate shared spaces, manage student transitions, and support campus culture. They teach students personal and social responsibility, self-directed learning, and problem-solving skills that support success in college. The role involves frequent equipment setup and movement, time outdoors in variable weather, instruction in shared or limited spaces, and possible schedule changes due to assemblies, testing, or athletics. Teachers use technology and data platforms such as IHT, SPARK, and FitnessGram to monitor student progress.
