About The Position

We are expanding our team and seeking contributors at all experience levels. This role is crucial for IP delivery, focusing on the methodology that supports the entire RTL-to-GDSII process for the IP physical design team. The goal is to ensure that new blocks, nodes, or customer variants can start from a mature and functional flow, rather than a 'cold start'. This position is hybrid and can be based in Toronto, ON; Austin, TX, or Belgrade, Serbia. We are open to candidates with various experience levels. The specific level will be determined during the interview process and will influence the final offer.

Requirements

  • 5+ years developing and supporting physical design methodology or CAD flows in production use.
  • Expertise with industry-standard tools (FusionCompiler/ICC2, Innovus/Genus, PrimeTime, RedHawk).
  • Expertise with scripting languages (Tcl, Python, Perl).
  • Deep understanding of advanced node methodology.
  • Deep understanding of low-power intent (UPF/CPF).
  • Deep understanding of clock tree synthesis.
  • Deep understanding of signoff (EM/IR, DRC/LVS).
  • Experience standing up flows for new technology nodes, PDKs, or foundry targets ahead of program need.
  • Experience qualifying new EDA releases.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, deploys, and owns the RTL-to-GDSII methodology for the IP physical design team.
  • Ensures new blocks, nodes, or customer variants start from a working flow.
  • Builds flows that production teams depend on daily.
  • Removes manual steps and makes PPA exploration repeatable.
  • Builds with AI as part of flow development, with opinions on the genuine utility of LLMs and ML-driven optimization.
  • Acts as an effective partner to design teams and EDA vendors.
  • Documents flows clearly so others can run them independently.
