About The Position

Join JSR as a technical leader supporting the development and commercialization of advanced semiconductor lithography materials and patterning solutions. This role combines hands-on experimental research, product development, customer technical support, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with R&D, engineering, customers, vendors, and strategic partners to develop next-generation materials, solve complex lithography challenges, and support products from initial development through high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD degree in chemistry, physics or physical science or equivalent experience
  • 3-4 years working with semiconductor material processing
  • 3-4 years hands on experimental planning and execution experience (knowledge of Electron Microscope, FT and Defect metrology)
  • 3-4 years working with semiconductor materials wafer processing experience in lab or clean room
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience with any lithography or metrology tools in semiconductor fab or customer/vendor facility
  • 3-4 years of scientific data analysis and interpretation experience
  • MS Office expertise plus intermediate JMP, Chemsketch, virtual lithography patterning simulation skills
  • 3-4 years’ experience in semiconductor fab operations
  • 1-2 years of project management or technical project management experience
  • 1-2 years of customer support experience plus some experience working with sales team
  • 1-2 years supporting customer projects, technical data package preparation and presentation

Responsibilities

  • Design, lead, and execute experiments to develop innovative semiconductor lithography materials and patterning solutions that meet customer needs, including formulation, resist processing, metrology, characterization, and simulation.
  • Develop next-generation patterning materials and solutions, as well as new products and enhancements for existing platforms.
  • Evaluate scientific concepts and technologies for potential inventions and new lithography materials or patterning solutions.
  • Provide on-site technical support at semiconductor fabrication facilities, including new product evaluations, process troubleshooting, and technical problem resolution.
  • Analyze and communicate experimental results to R&D teams to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with and mentor JSR R&D teams in Japan, engineers, strategic vendors, customers, academic institutions, and industry consortiums to address current lithography challenges and advance next-generation solutions.
  • Lead product development from initial formulation through scale-up and high-volume manufacturing, partnering with engineering, production, functional, and analytical teams on design reviews, customer requirements, characterization, specifications, process control, and material scalability.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for multiple customer accounts, providing day-to-day technical support and addressing customer issues and requests.
  • Build strong customer relationships by understanding technical requirements and supporting product quality, performance, data exchange, and other customer needs.
  • Stay current on emerging lithography technologies, industry trends, and next-generation patterning tools to identify opportunities for product and process development.
  • Support joint development activities with strategic customers and communicate key technical learnings and project needs across JSR teams.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites to present development progress, technical data, and advanced-material product offerings.
  • Collaborate with strategic equipment and materials vendors to support product development, customer needs, and long-term business opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by understanding customer requirements, engaging key decision-makers, and translating customer needs into development initiatives.
  • Lead technical meetings and customer discussions, respond to technical requests, and prepare and present technical data packages.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of JSR’s photolithography product portfolio and develop experiments that improve existing products and enable new product development.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify new opportunities and support the growth of existing and new business.
  • Identify and implement new methods, procedures, and process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
