About The Position

The Lafayette Aviators, a summer collegiate baseball team in the Prospect League, are offering a Photography Internship for Summer 2026. This program is designed to provide participants with hands-on, immersive experience in sports and media, preparing them for future careers. Interns will become an integral part of the game day staff, gaining real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This specific internship focuses on photography and visual storytelling, allowing interns to capture the energy of live baseball and build a professional portfolio. The internship is unpaid and offered for college credit.

Requirements

Available from May 13th through approximately August 12th (flexible)
Able to work 30–40 hours per week
Available for all 30 home games and potential playoff games
Experienced with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and sports photography techniques
Proficient in photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop
Able to work in fast-paced, live-event environments and meet tight deadlines
Strong eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling
Comfortable interacting with fans, staff, and players in a professional setting
Passionate about sports, photography, and content creation

Responsibilities

Capture high-quality photos during games, including action shots, fan experiences, promotions, and behind-the-scenes moments
Edit and deliver photos quickly for use on social media and digital platforms
Collaborate with the marketing team to support game day content needs
Assist in building a consistent visual identity for the team
Organize and maintain a digital photo library
Contribute creative ideas for visual storytelling and fan engagement
Support occasional non-game day events, appearances, or promotional shoots
