Photography Internship-St. Louis Post-Dispatch
About The Position
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is seeking a paid photo/video intern for the fall and spring to assist with news and sports coverage and to tell dynamic stories. The internship will run from October through the end of March. Interns will have the chance to cover breaking news, college and professional sports (including NHL, MLS and major college games), features, and portraits. The role requires crafting both stunning still images and engaging videos, working with urgency and immediacy for digital platforms, and developing visual stories. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is a Pulitzer Prize, Robert F. Kennedy Award, and NPPA award-winning news organization.
Requirements
- An excitement about finding and telling stories visually, including single photos as well as short stories
- A keen interest in how you see and compose photos
- Technical proficiency and interest in how that improves visual storytelling
- An audience-first mindset
- Link to an online portfolio demonstrating visual skills in news, features, sports, portraits, lighting, and storytelling
