About The Position

The Photographer (Work Study) is responsible for capturing high-quality images that support the FSU’s promotional and communication efforts. This includes photographing campus events, student life, and other activities for use on FSU digital platforms. The role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student with a strong eye for visual storytelling and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time Work Study position open to full-time Fanshawe College students approved for the Work Study program.

Requirements

• Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program.
• Ability to take news-quality, well-composed photographs.
• Comfortable working independently and following creative direction.
• Outgoing, task-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Must be available for both weekday and evening events.
• Reliable attendance and consistent photo delivery.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with photo editing software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality photographs of campus events, student activities, and promotional content.
• Upload and organize photos to shared drives (e.g., Google Drive) within 24 hours of events.
• Collaborate with FSU staff to ensure visual content aligns with branding and communication goals.
• Attend and document at least one weekday and one evening event per week.
• Edit and prepare images for digital use as needed.
• Follow creative direction while also contributing original ideas.
• Assist with other media or communications-related tasks as assigned.
