About The Position

Our photography team is seeking on-call Photographers who will be responsible for ready-to-wear (RTW) and accessory photography, as well as lighting and image quality control for the SSENSE website. As part of the Studio Visual Production team, the Photographer will ensure that all images comply with the SSENSE style guide and that production and productivity targets are met. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail and relevant knowledge in the fields of fashion and photography. This is a cross-functional role requiring a highly collaborative style and the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve results.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts or a College Diploma (DEC) in Photography or a related field.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial photography.
Advanced knowledge of Capture One and image processing.
Advanced knowledge of photography and lighting techniques.
Strong written and oral communication skills in French.

Experience in the fashion and/or e-commerce industry is an asset.
Experience working with Mac OSX and Creative Force is an asset.

Proven ability to handle a high volume of work.
Solid ability to interpret lighting diagrams to consistently achieve the desired art direction.
Ability to influence on-set decision-making, including pacing, model positioning, and expressions.

Responsibilities

Photograph ready-to-wear and accessory images for the SSENSE website.
Perform image processing and transfer files to post-production in accordance with SSENSE guidelines.
Ensure images are organized, lighting is consistent, and metadata is accurate according to directives.
Collaborate with the on-set production team to identify issues and escalate them to photography management.
Maintain strict quality control standards and stay up to date with the SSENSE art direction.
Stay current with photography industry tools, techniques, and best practices.
