About The Position
At CustomMade, photography plays a crucial role throughout the customer journey, from initial discovery through our ads and social media, to serving as inspiration during the design process, and finally, in the exciting reveal of the finished custom jewelry. As a Photographer on our in-house team, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality, consistent images and videos of every piece of jewelry with meticulous care. Your primary focus will be on product photography and video, ensuring beautiful and consistent visuals are delivered to customers promptly. The role also allows for creative endeavors, including group shots, styled single rings, and storytelling photography.
Requirements
- Product photography experience
- Experience with Canon cameras
- Experience with Lightroom and Photoshop
- A sharp eye for detail: you notice and fix any stray reflections, shadows, etc.
- Creativity and the initiative to bring your own ideas to a shoot
Nice To Haves
- Experience photographing engagement rings and other shiny, reflective objects
- Experience creating video content for social media
- Experience with the GemLoupe
Responsibilities
- Photograph finished rings and other jewelry in our studio using consistent staging, brand-color backgrounds, a light box, and props
- Edit images in Lightroom and Photoshop so every stone, metal, and detail looks its best and true to life
- Work through the photo queue efficiently so customers see their finished pieces quickly
- Stage creative shots for our website, paid ads, and organic Instagram and TikTok profiles
- Shoot standardized product video with the GemLoupe to show customers their rings with a little more sparkle
- Experiment with video as we push to grow our videos from customer-facing, operational clips into polished content for ads and social
- Coordinate with Production Specialists and Project Managers to ensure any ad hoc photo requests are met
- Work closely with Marketing to keep a pulse on how to continue pushing the business forward through our photography
