About The Position

NBC Boston & Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra are seeking a team-oriented News Photographer to shoot and edit stories, including spot news and features. The role uses creative camera work, lighting, and editing to tell stories on a given topic. The photographer operates ENG cameras and a live truck, edits using Premiere systems, and responds quickly to breaking news while coordinating with the assignment desk, reporters and anchors, production, the control room, and relevant Telemundo/NBC personnel. The position is full-time and must be performed onsite at an NBCUniversal-designated worksite in Needham, Massachusetts. It requires weekend availability, willingness to travel and work overtime, and the ability to work any 24-hour, seven-day shift.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience shooting video and knowledge of live remote capabilities in a broadcast station.
At least 3 years of experience operating IP transmission devices such as Dejero or LiveU.
At least 3 years of experience using communication tools, including email, cell phones, and messaging tools, to stay connected with assignment constituencies.
At least 3 years of experience editing stories.
Must be willing to work in Needham, Massachusetts, and submit to a background investigation.

Must be willing to work weekends, travel, and work overtime, and be able to work any 24 x 7 shift.
Must have a valid driver's license and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old and accept Solutions as NBCUniversal's Alternative Dispute Resolution program.
Must be able to perform medium/heavy physical work, including carrying camera equipment weighing approximately 15–30 pounds for extended periods at remote locations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Three years of photography/editing experience at a medium- or major-market TV news station.
Knowledge of Sony cameras and Premiere edit systems.
Knowledge of wireless newsgathering technology.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
Self-motivated, collaborative, flexible team player with strong creativity in telling stories with sound and images.
Strong NPPA-style preferred.
