About The Position

The Photographer Work Study supports Drury’s Marketing & Communications department by helping plan, shoot, and edit photos/footage of events and student life at the Springfield campus. Photography content will be distributed across multiple platforms, including social media, website, ad campaigns, print publications, and other official university marketing channels.

Requirements

• Must be a regular, full-time student, enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester
• Must have a completed FAFSA on file with Financial Aid for the current academic year
• Owns the equivalent of a Canon T-series camera or greater quality.
• Working knowledge of photo editing software, preferably in Adobe Suite.
• Ability to deliver RAW and JPEG files to teammates.
• Flexible schedule; can cover events at odd times of the day or week, including some evenings and weekends.
• Is interested in the opportunity to also shoot video.
• Excels at making others feel at ease during shoots, resulting in more authentic interactions and communication.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, set goals, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to take constructive criticism and deliver accurate corrections to assignments.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the taking high-quality photos at assigned campus events.
• Works with Creative Director of Video Production, Director of University Communications & Media Relations, Senior Web Designer, Director of Publications & Creative Services, and Social Media Content Manager in identifying photography opportunities that will enhance the overall branding of Drury.
• Manage, edit and organize photos and footage post-shoot.
• Maintain organized structure for photo storage on cloud-based software, physical hard drives, or both.
• Keep all photo equipment organized and in good condition.
• Lend creative and visionary input as it relates to university photography, as necessary.
• Other projects, as assigned by the department.
