About The Position

WGN-TV is seeking a Part-Time Photographer/Editor to join their News Team. This role involves operating cameras, non-linear editing systems, microwave equipment, and cellular bonding equipment to support electronic newsgathering operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of spot news coverage with an eye for creative storytelling
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a live truck
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication skills
• Sound editorial judgment
• 3–5 years of television news gathering, editing, and microwave experience required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Become a member of IBEW local 1220 television broadcast engineers’ union
• Candidates must include a link to an online reel with their resume

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Chicago city streets is a plus
• Experience with Adobe Premiere preferred
