About The Position

Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for creating distinct and engaging photo and video content that is used across multiple digital channels. With the master-level photo-video production and editing skills, this role works closely with the Marketing Department and executive leadership team to produce eye-catching ‘on-brand’ content. Daily duties include but are not limited to recording and editing video projects, shooting photography, assisting with cataloging photo/video assets, maintaining editing tools and hardware, collaborating and coaching teammates on photo/video project scope, vision, and technique, uploading content, conducting voice-overs, creating concept boards and/or articulating proposed edits in addition to various related photo/video duties, tasks, and material. Video material may include the manipulation of camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, transitions, music, and special effects. Photography material may include photo rendering, photo shop, color and light correction and other photo enhancing techniques. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in a related field; or four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premier and other Creative Cloud Applications, After Effects and/or similar editing software, tools, and platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for The Villages and all it has to offer, robust photo and video production experience with the ability to problem solve using ‘out of the box’ creative thinking to handle a variety of variables required.
  • Must be able to communicate confidently and effectively with customers, guests and team members, always.
  • Must have strong leadership skills to instruct and direct subjects, coach teammates, and interact with all levels of leadership.
  • This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business.
  • A Valid Driver’s License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and executive leadership team to establish the desired look and feel for all video content and creation.
  • Manage technical aspects of video recording and editing.
  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of a video's creation from marketing leadership; bringing to life concept boards and/or articulate proposed edits based on that understanding.
  • Coordinate with the Photo/Video team regarding digital productions, schedule coordination and talent.
  • Determine filming locations and lead all logistics for travel and logging equipment.
  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including but not limited to selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, editing footage, and audio files, creating/inserting static and motion graphics, and media/file management.
  • Improve video and sound quality using various video software, tools, and techniques.
  • Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project and video completion.
  • Assist with voice-over recordings when requested.
  • Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure all materials are uploaded and formatted correctly.
  • Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects, troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos match team specifications and vision.
  • Use expertise and skill to capture professional, high-quality images; assignments may include candid photos, portraits, architectural structures, abstract compositions, etc.
  • Select and use appropriate photographic and video equipment to record events and subjects.
  • Enhance the appearance of subjects with natural or artificial light.
  • Use photo editing software and applications to edit, crop, and enhance photographs.
  • Produce images that accompany written content, coordinating with marketing team members to ensure photographs present a unified message matching the publication's purpose, tone, and audience.
  • Ensure all photo/video equipment is charged, in proper working order and logged.
  • Assist with cataloging inventory and video assets in addition to maintaining editing tools and hardware.
  • Review artistic content and provide feedback.
  • Adhere to the company's brand guidelines, ensuring alignment with The Villages’ brand and voice.
  • Drive company vehicle(s) and safely transport shoot materials to and from events and various destinations; at times using own transportation when necessary.
  • Utilize office computer and office equipment (copier, scanner, etc.) along with a host of other software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, MAC applications and subsequent editing management tools (ex: Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premier and other Creative Cloud applications, After Effects, etc.).
  • Attend special meetings, educational sessions and assist leadership in ongoing training of team members as asked.
  • Assist the Marketing Team in their overall initiatives as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned.
