About The Position

This is a hybrid position with a combination of Remote + Onsite work at Various School Locations. The Photo Team Manager will oversee and inspire a team of talented photographers to capture magical moments for students K-12 and their families. This role involves leadership, training, logistics, and hands-on event management, ensuring every school photo day runs smoothly and efficiently. The position requires managing photo day logistics, equipment storage, and coordination, as well as hiring and managing photographers, scheduling, and ensuring adherence to JostensPIX standards. The role also includes understanding and executing photography protocols, potentially working as a photographer or event lead when needed, and providing support during peak days. Travel to schools within the assigned Hub is required.

Requirements

Proven success in managing teams and driving performance under pressure.
A four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, customer service, and general business experience.
Exceptional ability to connect with and lead a team, clients, and partners at all levels.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks without missing a beat.
Comfortable using computers and learning new programs quickly.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and maintain energy throughout busy photo days.
Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and travel as needed within your assigned area.
Valid Driver's License.
Access to a reliable, insured vehicle (public transportation isn’t an option). Vehicle must be large enough to transport equipment as needed (i.e. sedan +).
Ability to interact with students of all ages and abilities, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere.
Maintain grooming and demeanor that reflects Jostens’ corporate image.
Consistent access to a dependable cell phone and internet service to stay connected with the team and clients.
May be required to complete additional background/health screenings as determined by state specific policies.

Responsibilities

Manage photo day logistics, ensuring the right number of photographers are scheduled for each event.
Research and determine centralized storage location for photography equipment.
Oversee equipment storage, organization, and coordination of equipment pickups with your team.
Coordinate weekly pickups with Event Leads for photography hard drives, etc.
Collect and prepare all photography gear for shipment to MN at the end of the season.
Partner with HR to conduct interviews and hire Photographers.
Directly manage Photographers within the Hub.
Manage school assignments and Photographer scheduling for service area.
Ensure all details of each photo day event are clear to assigned photographers and school contacts through ongoing communication.
Establish expectations with photographers to ensure adherence of JostensPIX standards and attendance.
Attend/lead weekly, virtual team meetings.
Partner with Travel Coordinator for hotel reservation needs.
Oversee and approve Photographer expenses; manage overtime and travel needs.
Understand and execute JostensPIX photography in adherence with Jostens protocol.
Work some events as a Photographer or Event Lead when needed, providing hands-on support during peak days.
Attend 2-3 Photo Day events per week as additional support.
Ensure smooth operations, from setting up equipment to troubleshooting tech issues.
Ability to travel to schools within assigned Hub as needed.
