About The Position

Collect venous and capillary specimens using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and aseptic technique in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings; Perform bedside testing; Perform Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions; Provide instruction to students/personnel; Perform laboratory related duties as requested by the Manager. Draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May prick finger to draw blood. May conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Completed Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course
  • At least 6 months phlebotomy experience required (for Phlebotomist II)
  • 2 Years work experience in phlebotomy required (for Phlebotomist III)
  • Internal candidates are required to submit and meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements.
  • External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 90 days in position (for Phlebotomist II).
  • External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements within 6 months in position (for Phlebotomist III).
