The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for accurately performing and processing, Point of Care Testing (POC), venous and capillary blood collection from adults, infants, and children and all related functions. This role involves collecting blood, performing POC tests, cleaning and re-stocking supplies, assisting coworkers, and ensuring timely collection and delivery of blood work. The technician will also perform clerical functions, report incidents and supply needs, log refrigerator temperatures, and travel to health fairs and PSA testing sites as needed. A key aspect of the role is identifying and adapting care to the specific needs of diverse patient populations, including considerations for age, culture, language, and sensory impairments, while communicating effectively with patients and their caregivers.
