About The Position

StraighterLine is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their Phlebotomy Technician course launching Fall 2026. The SME will review and validate course content developed by a vendor partner, ensuring clinical accuracy, exam alignment, and industry relevance. The role also offers the opportunity to be featured as an expert voice in the course and marketing materials.

Requirements

Active NHA CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certification
3–4 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
At least 2 years of active venipuncture and specimen collection experience within the past 5 years

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Sciences, or related field
5+ years of experience across multiple clinical settings (hospital, reference lab, blood donation center, outpatient clinic, etc.)
Experience with special collection procedures (blood cultures, arterial draws, pediatric/geriatric collections, point-of-care testing)
Teaching, precepting, or curriculum development experience

Responsibilities

Review course content for clinical accuracy, completeness, and NHA CPT exam alignment.
Provide expert feedback on errors, gaps, outdated information, and improvement opportunities.
Validate exam preparation content against the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam domains.
Collaborate with the academic team and content vendor to resolve questions and clarify standards.
Approve final content before course launch.
Hold 1 hour per week of virtual office hours to support enrolled students.
Participate in course and/or marketing features (photo, bio, recorded segments, or testimonials) as mutually agreed.
