About The Position

StraighterLine is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their EKG Technician course launching Fall 2026. The role involves reviewing and validating course content developed by a vendor partner to ensure clinical accuracy, exam alignment with the NHA CET exam, and industry relevance. The SME will also have opportunities to be featured as an expert voice in the course and in marketing materials. This is a contract position with a duration from now until September 2026, with possible extensions.

Requirements

Active NHA CET (Certified EKG Technician) certification
3–4 years of EKG/ECG technician experience in a clinical setting
At least 2 years of active EKG acquisition and rhythm interpretation experience within the past 5 years
Resume/CV highlighting NHA CET certification, years of experience in discipline, and educational background
Brief cover letter (1–2 paragraphs) addressing position interest, excitement for the SME opportunity, and any curriculum development, content review, teaching, or precepting experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Cardiovascular Technology, Health Sciences, or related field
5+ years of experience across multiple clinical settings (hospital, cardiology clinic, ambulatory care, etc.)
Experience with 12-lead interpretation, Holter monitoring, or stress testing
Teaching, precepting, or curriculum development experience

Responsibilities

Review course content for clinical accuracy, completeness, and NHA CET exam alignment.
Provide expert feedback on errors, gaps, outdated information, and improvement opportunities.
Validate exam preparation content against the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam domains.
Collaborate with the academic team and content vendor to resolve questions and clarify standards.
Approve final content before course launch.
Hold 1 hour per week of virtual office hours to support enrolled students post-launch.
Participate in course and/or marketing features (photo, bio, recorded segments, or testimonials) as mutually agreed.
