About The Position

CALRegional is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to join their team. This role is ideal for medical professionals looking to supplement their income and make a significant impact by training aspiring healthcare professionals. The Phlebotomy Technician Programs run for 3-12 weeks, with flexible morning, day, evening, and weekend schedules available. The instructor will be responsible for teaching students all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice, evaluating their performance, and preparing them for a 40-hour externship. The role also involves assisting students in developing professional values and serving as a role model in the healthcare profession.

Requirements

Current CPT License.
Must have 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
Must be proficient in all aspects of blood collection, including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly methods.
Must be comfortable with speaking to large groups, multi-tasking, and critical thinking.
Efficient with computers and technology.
Organized and detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

No teaching experience is required.

Responsibilities

Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
Providing a professional role model for students.
