About The Position

CALRegional is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to join their team. This role is ideal for medical professionals looking to supplement their income while making a significant impact on aspiring healthcare professionals. The Phlebotomy Technician Programs run for 3-12 weeks. The instructor will be responsible for teaching students all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice, evaluating their performance, and preparing them for a 40-hour externship. The role also involves assisting students in developing an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the healthcare profession and serving as a professional role model.

Requirements

Current CPT License.
Must have 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
Must be proficient in all aspects of blood collection, including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly methods.
Must be comfortable with speaking to large groups, multi-tasking, and critical thinking.
Efficient with computers and technology.
Organized and detail-oriented.

No teaching experience is required.

Responsibilities

Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
Providing a professional role model for students.
