About The Position

The Phlebotomy Technician I provides direct patient care by collecting blood specimens for laboratory diagnostic testing. The technician joins a team of phlebotomists in a busy medical center, performs quality venipuncture techniques, and collaborates with health system members to help ensure phlebotomy services meet the needs of patients and customers. The position works under the direction of the phlebotomy supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate.
Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, or submit a completed affidavit at the time of hire.
Must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven days of hire and present the actual card within 90 days of applying.
Fingerprint clearance cards must remain valid throughout their period of issuance and be renewed before expiration.
Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively, including basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Excellent time management and customer service skills.
Basic computer skills.
Creative, analytical, and independent thinking.
Ability to be approachable, open to feedback, and flexible to change.
Ability to support and maintain policies and processes.
Professionalism, enthusiasm, and knowledge and skills to perform venipuncture techniques.
