About The Position
The phlebotomist works under the immediate supervision of the Medical Technologist/Technician and is primarily responsible for phlebotomy procedures, including venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, bleeding times, urine collection, and drug screen collections. The role also processes reference lab reports and sorts and charts various lab results. The phlebotomist assists with clerical duties such as running daily reports, assisting outpatients, taking orders off the computer, putting up supplies, and cleaning trays and work areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and bleeding times.
- Collect urine specimens and drug screens.
- Process reference lab reports and sort and chart lab results.
- Run daily reports and assist with outpatients.
- Take orders off the computer.
- Put up supplies and clean trays and work areas.
