About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join their team in San Antonio, TX. LabCorp is a global leader in diagnostic testing and drug development solutions, helping healthcare providers, researchers, and patients make informed decisions that advance care. The role involves providing coverage and performing phlebotomy duties, assisting in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists, performing site inspections, providing training, managing patient flow, and addressing customer service issues. The Phlebotomy Team Lead may be eligible for participation in a quarterly incentive bonus program based on performance metrics. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be 21 years of age and have a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience as a phlebotomist
  • 1 or more years of experience in a coordinator, lead or supervisory role
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering and traveling to multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
  • Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
  • Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Address any customer service-related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
