About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Team Lead to join their team. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, performing skilled specimen collections, and being the face of the company. The Phlebotomy Team Lead will provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties, assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists, perform site inspections, provide continuous training, manage patient flow, and address customer service issues. The role also involves performing all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be 21 years of age and have a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience as a phlebotomist
  • 1 or more years of experience in a coordinator, lead or supervisory role
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering and traveling to multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
  • Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
  • Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Address any customer service-related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Promote teamwork, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
