About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join their team in Virginia Beach, VA. This role involves supervising a team of phlebotomists, managing patient flow, coordinating schedules, performing operational duties, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The supervisor will also be involved in hiring, training, and addressing employee relations issues. This position offers the opportunity to lead, inspire, and develop a team, impacting the patient and client experience. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years or more relevant experience as a phlebotomist
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership position
  • At least 21 years’ old
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of (25+) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
