About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join their team in Cumming, GA. This role involves supervising a team of over 25 phlebotomists, managing patient flow, inventory, and team performance. The supervisor will also be responsible for operational duties such as payroll, scheduling, performance appraisals, and partnering with HR on employee relations. Effective communication with various stakeholders, including patients, clients, and management, is crucial. The role may also involve assisting with new site setups, resolving issues, and performing specimen collection when needed. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be at least 21 years’ old

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years or more experience in a supervisory or people leader position
  • 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • 2 years or more in talent retention
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency (in lieu of work experience)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
  • Inspire and motivate team members while cultivating a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven work environment.
  • Lead and support team members by setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and promoting development and engagement.
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
