About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. This role involves supervising a team of phlebotomists, managing patient flow, coordinating schedules, performing operational duties, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Phlebotomy Supervisor will lead and inspire a team, oversee patient service centers and client locations, and contribute to Labcorp's mission of improving health and lives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year or more as a supervisor or leader of direct reports
  • 5 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Be at least 21 years’ old
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years or more as a supervisor or leader of direct reports
  • 6 years or more experience as a phlebotomist

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of (+25) phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, and inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
