About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Float to work at its Van Nuys, California location and cover nearby areas including Mission Hills, Van Nuys, Glendale, Burbank, and Montebello. The role provides experience across a variety of patients, team members, clinics, and patient service center locations, with opportunities to develop skills and grow within the organization.

The schedule varies Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with additional days and hours as needed, including some Saturdays. The position includes a quarterly incentive bonus program based on performance metrics. The stated pay range is $21.00–$33.00 per hour, with an additional float incentive of $1.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Offers are based on skills, relevant experience, degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• California state-issued phlebotomy license (CPT).
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of a training program from an accredited agency may be provided in lieu of work experience.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience as a phlebotomist.
• Current or prior experience at Labcorp.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other testing.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
