About The Position

Under the guidance of the Unit Supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department of Pathology.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year phlebotomy experience including pediatrics venipuncture and micro-collection.
  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Math, verbal, and written skills at high school level.
  • Ability to periodically take ‘lead’ responsibilities on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to work under general supervision, referring unusual or more difficult situations to immediate supervisor or designee.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy, Nursing or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
