About The Position

This role involves using equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents, explaining procedures, and collecting information professionally. The phlebotomist will collect and manage samples, ensure patient safety, accurately record and document patient information, follow all standard procedures and safety regulations, and deploy asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. They will also communicate with patients, collect health information, and answer questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents.
  • Ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process.
  • Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
  • Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations.
  • Deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
  • Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
