Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting and maintenance. This role involves performing proper quality control procedures before patient testing, conducting laboratory blood work, and performing blood draws. The position requires adherence to laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, and performing technical laboratory procedures accurately and precisely to meet regulatory standards. Responsibilities also include preparing blood or bone marrow slides, sending outside labs, receiving and documenting lab reports, and communicating critical blood counts to physicians. The role involves maintaining supply inventory, troubleshooting instrument malfunctions, performing therapeutic phlebotomy, and ensuring laboratory compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, the phlebotomist must observe safety guidelines, maintain laboratory cleanliness, comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to patient care and confidentiality, and assist in training new employees. The position may require working at any company location and working overtime.
