The position requires performing technical laboratory procedures accurately and precisely, meeting regulatory standards, and preparing slides for evaluation. Responsibilities also include managing outside lab orders, documenting lab reports, and communicating critical blood counts to physicians. Maintaining supply inventory, troubleshooting instrument malfunctions, and performing therapeutic phlebotomy are key duties. The role ensures laboratory compliance with state and federal regulations, including performing compliance testing and obtaining necessary continuing education units (CEUs). Safety guidelines, cleanliness, and adherence to all laws and company policies, including patient confidentiality and IT procedures, are essential. The position may involve assisting in training new employees, working at different company locations, and working overtime when required.
