The Phlebotomist will provide phlebotomy services commensurate with community standards. This includes organizing, scheduling, performing, and processing laboratory studies and specimen collection within the Health Service Unit. The role involves preparing and ensuring specimens are packed and transported according to guidelines, completing lab requests, and scanning reports into the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR). The Phlebotomist will also assist providers by measuring vital signs and weight, scanning laboratory results, and assisting with patient flow and dismissal. Maintaining laboratory equipment, managing supplies, and assisting in audits and policy implementation are also key responsibilities. The position requires adherence to infection control protocols and may involve significant physical exertion.
