As a Phlebotomist, you will work closely with our other lab staff to perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate samples from our patients who are either being seen by one of our providers and/or will be receiving outpatient infusion treatment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Manual dexterity, proper hand-eye coordination, clear color perception and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Entry level phlebotomists are required to have around 0-3 years of experience.
  • A senior level phlebotomist will have 5 or more years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A certificate from an accredited school of phlebotomy is highly preferred.
  • Experience with navigating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and lab management systems.
  • Experience knowing when to ask for help.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate samples from patients.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and help put them at ease.
  • Carefully and efficiently collect specimens from patients as ordered.
  • Follow quality and safety procedures for processing specimens.
  • Communicate respectfully and thoroughly listen to any shared details in conversations with patients, coworkers, and third-party laboratories.
  • Log and maintain inventory while following all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures.
  • Neatly label all specimens to prevent any specimen processing errors.
  • Jump in and help out with any additional tasks.
