About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join its team in Wayne, New Jersey. The role involves collecting blood and other specimens, preparing samples for testing, maintaining accurate patient and specimen records, and providing customer service. The float position works across multiple clinics or locations and offers exposure to a variety of patients and team members. Employees may travel to additional sites as needed.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with scheduled hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Overtime may be needed. The pay range is $17.75–$24.00 per hour, with an additional float incentive of $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Eligible phlebotomists may participate in a quarterly performance-based incentive plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.
• Proven record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfort working with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
