About The Position

The Phlebotomist provides exceptional patient care and customer-focused service while collecting and processing specimens. The role performs venipuncture on patients of all ages, collects and prepares non-blood specimens, and ensures proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering. The position also promotes safety, compliance, and quality control. It is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is full-time for 35 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position has routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI); employees must complete training on reasonable safeguards, maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable privacy and security standards, and access PHI only as needed to perform job duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous phlebotomy training or experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy and security standards for Protected Health Information.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
• Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.
