This role involves providing superior customer service to patients of all ages, accurately interpreting physician orders, performing invasive procedures such as venipuncture and micro-capillary collections, and handling specimens to ensure high quality and timely test results. The phlebotomist also plays a role in patient registration, maintaining strict identification policies, adhering to infection prevention and control practices, and utilizing laboratory and hospital information systems.
