About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups, including venous, capillary, arterial, and line collections. The role involves providing rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes. Phlebotomists work both independently and as part of a team, fostering an inclusive environment and respecting diverse backgrounds. They interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high customer satisfaction. Daily tasks include using various computer programs and systems, accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation, answering phones, and assisting with training students and new employees. Individuals hired for this position are required to complete 2 years in the role before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
