About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Andrologist (level I or II) at our practice in Clearwater, Florida. If you have the following qualifications and have a desire to work in a fertility laboratory, this may be a great fit for you. The Andrologist performs all the laboratory procedures in Reproductive Chemistry and Andrology required for an in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle including hormone assay, preparation of semen samples for artificial insemination, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed. This position will also assist as support role for embryology.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED, and Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical or biological science, required.
  • 1-year prior laboratory experience is required.
  • Florida MT or MLT is required.
  • In addition to the above requirements, a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience is required.
  • For both roles, it is preferred to have an Associate's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory technology or Bachelor's in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical physical or biological science.
  • Florida MT or MLT is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all Andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial inseminations, cryopreservation of sperm, and complete sperm analysis assessed by World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
  • Performs laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Prelude Fertility policies, procedures and standards of patient care and initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational level
  • Supports and actively participates in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance
  • Follows all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens.
  • Performs comprehensive semen analysis, including sperm count, motility, progression, morphology, and viability (if indicated).
