This is a full-time Phlebotomist position within the 60192 WI ACL Laboratories - AMC Mount Pleasant department. The role involves ensuring patient safety through positive identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, and performing venipuncture and other specimen collections from patients of all age groups. The Phlebotomist will also be responsible for obtaining specimens according to priority and schedule, ensuring proper labeling and suitability for testing, and resolving any specimen identification or requisition issues. Additionally, the role includes performing limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answering telephone calls, assisting with inventory and supplies, supporting billing functions, and processing specimens for testing. The position also requires ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, entering laboratory results into the computer system, performing proficiency testing, reviewing reports, and instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care.
