About The Position

Martin County Hospital District is hiring a full-time, night-shift Phlebotomist. The role performs venipunctures and finger sticks and processes medical laboratory samples for analysis by the clinical laboratory scientist. The phlebotomist follows applicable CLIA and COLA requirements and regulations, guides patients through the laboratory sample collection process, and is responsible for patient comfort, safety, and pretest requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certificate recommended but not required.
• One year of experience preferred; no experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Process medical laboratory samples for the clinical laboratory scientist to analyze.
• Follow CLIA and COLA requirements and regulations.
• Guide patients through the process of donating a laboratory sample.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety and address pretest requirements.
